First United Missionary Baptist Church in Wylam is a community of ordinary individuals who bravely place their trust in Jesus, allowing Him to perform extraordinary feats through us (Ephesians 3:20)."

WE STAND ON GOD'S WORD TO TRANSFORM LIVES

Our mission to serve others has not only influenced our identity, but it also shapes our ministry efforts (Ephesians 2:10; Hebrews 13:16). Thus, our motto, "Let's Get to Work" (Matthew 9:37-38), motivates us to leave the church building, that we may meet the needs of others, save souls, and transform lives.


What We Believe

We believe The Church is not a building with a cross; rather, The Church are those who are a part of the Body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:20-27).

  • About God

    The triune God is the Master and Creator of all the Universe (Psalm 24:1-2). 


  • About Humanity

    Humans  are sinful by nature and can only be redeemed of sin by the blood of Jesus (Romans 5:8; 1 Corinthians 15:20-22).


  • About Salvation

    Salvation is the great work of God (Jonah 2:9) in which He forgives sin and gives eternal life to a believing sinner as a free gift of His grace (Eph. 2:8-9). 

  • About The Holy Spirit & The Church

    The Holy Spirit unites the believer with Christ and places him in the body of Christ, The Church (Ephesians 1:13-14).

  • About the bible

    We believe the bible is the inspired Word of God, as is collected in the 66 books from Genesis to Revelation (2 Timothy 3:16).

Men and women everywhere are born to live in fellowship with God and one another. We have not been created to live alone, which is seen in Genesis before sin enters the world. Thus, at First United Missionary Baptist church in Wylam, we believe we can walk along our individual paths TOGETHER. With a strong shared sense of God's love, we should find a way to live a wholesome life of faith while also sharing the struggles, happy moments, and wishes with other members of the church (1 Corinthians 12:20-27).

Our Beliefs


Nicene Creed – 381 A.D. 


I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible.

I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, begotten from the Father before all worlds, Light of Light, very God of very God, begotten not made, being of one substance with the Father, by whom all things were made, who for us men, and for our salvation, came down from heaven, and was incarnate by the Holy Ghost of the Virgin Mary, and was made man, he was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate, and suffered, and was buried, and on the third day he rose again, according to the Scriptures, and ascended into heaven, and sits on the right hand of the Father, from thence he shall come again, with glory, to judge the quick and the dead; whose kingdom shall have no end.

I believe in the Holy Ghost, the Lord and Giver of life, who proceeds from the Father, who with the Father and the Son is together worshiped glorified, who spoke by the prophets.

We believe in one holy (universal) apostolic Church; we acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins; we look forward to the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come.

To become a church empowered to see the miraculous hand of God manifesting in every area of our lives (Luke:17; Ephesians 3:20)

We are the First United Missionary Baptist Church in Wylam. We are passionate about ministering to our church family and serving our community, that all may come to know the abundant life that is found only in the Lord Jesus (John 10:10).
